Randy Umberger was born in Jacksonville, Florida the son of Earl D. and JoAnn Umberger. He graduated from Luther Rice Seminary and North American School of Theology. Umberger served as pastor of churches in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida including Mill Creek Baptist Church, Bradenton and First Baptist Church, Davenport. He and his wife, Denise Currin Umberger have three daughters. Umberger and his family served as missionaries in Honduras for three years.

CECIL E. UNDERWOOD
Cecil E. Underwood (1903-1978) was born in St Louis, Missouri the son of Francis Marion “Frank” and Belle Emily Hunsaker Underwood. He served as pastor of Peniel Baptist Church, Palatka and Paran Baptist Church, Grandin. Underwood and his wife, Florence Lee Jones Underwood had four children.

GEORGE W. UNDERWOOD
George W. Underwood was the son of Aaron and Sarah Underwood. He was ordained by the West Florida Baptist Association in 1856 at the request of the Orange Hill Church. He was elected as a delegate to the 1857 Florida Baptist Convention. In 1859 and 1860, Underwood was pastor of Orange Hill, Holmes Valley, Ebenezer, and Pine Barren in the West Florida Baptist Association. He served as missionary for the West Florida Baptist Association in 1858. Underwood also served as a Washington County Commissioner. He and his wife Jane had seven children.

NESLIE V. UNDERWOOD

Neslie V. Underwood (1907-1985) was born in Venice, Illinois the son of Edwin Lawence and Minnie K. Karn Underwood. He served as pastor of churches in Tennessee and Florida including First Baptist Church, Mt. Dora. Underwood and his wife, Mary Emma Sharp Underwood had two children.

W. G. UPCHURCH

W. G. Upchurch (1878-1950) was elected by the State Board of Missions as Florida’s Brotherhood director in 1928 and served four years. During his tenure Upchurch continued by example and encouragement to lead laymen to become involved in evangelism. Prior to selling his wholesale grocery enterprise, Upchurch had been actively organizing and promoting evangelism through newly organized laymen soul-winning groups, while a member of Jacksonville’s Main Street Baptist Church. Later, as a deacon of First Baptist Church, Bradenton, he was an active soul-winner and strong proponent of the layman’s movement. Those “hands-on” experiences were sufficient credentials to lead the statewide Brotherhood effort. Upchurch and his wife, Hilda Meyer Upchurch had two children.

R. E. UPTON
R. E. Upton served as pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vernon, First Baptist Church, Campbellton, New Orange Baptist Church and Holmes Creek Baptist Church. He served as a school teacher and principal of Vernon High School for 20 years.

HARRY J. USHER

Harry J. Usher was a native of Georgia. He graduated from Stetson University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Usher served as pastor of churches in Georgia and Florida including North Hialeah Baptist Church, Miami. He and his wife, Marjorie Usher had two children.

DAVID UTH

David Uth (1958- ) served as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, West Monroe, Louisiana, from 1996-2005. He became co-pastor with Jim Henry of First Baptist Church, Orlando, in 2005. Uth is a native of Arkansas and a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. and Ph.D., 1991), and taught there three years. In 2011 and 2012, Uth served as president of the Florida Baptist State Convention. Uth and his wife, Rachel, have three children; Joshua, Andrew, and Hannah.

O. A. Utley was pastor of Perrine Baptist Church, 1924; Goulds Baptist Church, 1924 and Little River Baptist Church. He came to the Miami area from Memphis, Tennessee.
