C. A. Kager served as pastor of Beulah Baptist Church, Fruitland, 1879-1880.

RAYMOND C. KANNE

Raymond C. Kanne was legally blind and used a Braille Bible to preach his sermons. Kanne was a graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia and Crozier Theological Seminary.  He served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Eau Gallie.

CRAIG STEPHE KARPPE

Craig Stephen Karppe (1961-   ) was born in Panama City, Florida, the son of Richard Mayo and Judy Ann Thomas Karppe. He was ordained in 1999 by Richland Baptist Church, Zephyrhills where he also served as pastor from 2006-2008. Karppe and his wife, Linda Gail Cherry have two children.

JOHN KASPER

John Kasper the son of Paul, Sr. and Sharon Kasper. He served 13 years as pastor of Pecan Park Baptist Church and became pastor of Blackrock Baptist Church in Yulee in 2014. He and his wife Melissa have four children.

RUSSELL KAUFFMAN

Russell Kauffman (1918-2012) was born in St. Joseph, Michigan. He graduated from Stetson University (1952) and New Orleans Theological Seminary (1959). Kauffman served Florida Baptists from 1970-1983, first as director of migrant missions and then as director of Christian Social Ministries. He and his wife had sons Wayne and David and daughters Janet and Deborah.

ANTHONY S. KAY

Kay,-Anthony

Anthony S. Kay served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Crestview, from 1974-1978. Kay was a graduate of Carson-Newman (1962) and New Orleans
Baptist Theological Seminary (B.D., 1965; D.Min., 1973). Kay left Crestview to go as pastor of First Baptist Church, Calhoun City, Mississippi.

J. C. KAZEE

J. C. Kazee (1875-1951) served as pastor of the First Baptist Church, Cocoa, First Baptist Church, Eau Gallie, Tenth Avenue Baptist Church, Tampa, South Jacksonville Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, Brooksville. Kazee was the owner and editor of a religious paper, The Baptist Digest. He and his wife Evelyn had one son.

L. J. Keels attended the University of South Carolina, Furman University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Port St. Joe and Oak Crest Baptist Church, Ocala. The Keels’ had two children.

DAVID EARL KEEN

David Earl Keen was a native of Hillsborough County, Florida. He attended the University of Alabama and William Carey College, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Keen was ordained by the First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort, Alabama. He served as pastor of Westside Baptist Church, Zephyrhills.

James W. Keen died June 14, 1992, after serving 43 years as a Baptist preacher. He was a native of Florida. Keen attended Stetson University, Baptist Bible Institute, Lakeland and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of Forest Grove, Alachua, 1949-1950, Five Points, Fernandina Beach, Hyde Park Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Providence Baptist Church, Palatka, New England Heights Baptist Church, Apopka, Windermere Mission, Winter Garden, Collins Road Baptist Church, Jacksonville, First Baptist Church, Jensen Beach, and Pine Grove Baptist Church, Trenton. He and his wife, Mary Ann Blanton Keen, had two children.

NATHAN KEEN

Nathan Keen (1923-2019) was born in Lake City, Florida, the son of Eula Nathan, Sr. and Edna Bernice Green Keen. He graduated from Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville. Keen served as pastor of churches in Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida, including First Baptist Church in Callaway (1973-1980), in Panama City, and in 1980, went as pastor of First Baptist Church in North Pole, Alaska. Keen and his wife, Dorothy Jeweleen Keen had seven children.

A.C. Keene

A. C. Keene (1834-1914) served as a Baptist preacher for over 50 years. Most of his pastorates were Illinois, Indiana and South Dakota. He moved to Miami in 1910 and preached for two years at Fort Lauderdale and Homestead.

FRANK A. KEENE

Frank A. Keene (1877-1963) was born in Clinton County, Iowa, the son of Albert Cyrus and Nellie Charlotte Miner Keene. He served as assistant postmaster of the Miami Post Office and resigned in 1925 to become a minister. Keene was ordained at the age of 50 and served as pastor of Coral Gables Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Dania, First Baptist Church, Fort Lauderdale and Melrose Heights Baptist Church (now Miami Lakes Baptist Church). He and his wife Helen McClure Park Keene had one daughter.

J. Ralph Keene served for 17 years as pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church (1950-1967) in Tampa, Florida. He died in October 1967.

W. D. Keis (1872-1969) was a native of Ohio. He was a veteran of World War I and served as pastor of Greenville Baptist Church.

ALBERT ABEL KEITH    

Albert Abel Keith (1843-1927) was the son of Enos and Frances “Fannie” S. Haynes Keith. He was a circuit riding preacher and schoolteacher who came from Texas to Florida in 1883. A Civil War veteran, he had fought frist for the Confederacy and later for the Union. He served as pastor of Grace in Clerment; Mt. Olive in Lakeland; Gapway and Kathleen in Lake County; Seffner in Hillsborough County; Lacoochee, New Hope, Richland, and Emmaus in Pasco County; Eau Gallie and First Baptist Church, Dade City and Williston. Keith married Amanda Annie Haynes and they had five children.

ROBERT KEITH

Robert Keith (1814-1902) served as a Florida Baptist pastor and died at age 89 in 1902.

WILLIAM E. KEITH, JR.

William (Bill) E. Keith, Jr. (b. July 30, 1942; d. November 11, 2020) most notably served 40 years as the minister of music of the First Baptist Church (now called Family Church), West Palm Beach, and later served the church as minister of pastoral care and senior adults. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, he grew up in Denver, Colorado.  He attended and graduated from Asbury University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in church music. He served Kentucky churches in Lexington, Mayfield, and Bowling Green, and then served a church in Killeen, Texas, before being called to the West Palm Beach church. He was survived by his spouse Anna and a son, Grant.

WILLIAM E. KEITH, JR.

William E. Keith, Jr. (1952-) attended Liberty University and in 1983 became an associate with his father at Countryside Baptist Church in Gainesville. He served as interim and Christian school principal and became pastor of Countryside in 2010. He and his wife Vonnie have served at Countryside since 1983.

William E. Keith, III (1972-) served as pastor of Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Williston in 2013. Keith and his wife Ginny have a daughter Emma Grace.

WILLIAM E. KEITH, SR.

William E. Keith, Sr. (1932-) was called to preach in 1952. While a student at Stetson he was pastor of FBC, Taft. He served as pastor at First Baptist Church, Otter Creek (1954-59), Southside Baptist Church in Gainesville (1959-1967), Cape Canaveral Baptist Mission (1967-1970), and Countryside
Baptist Church in Gainesville (1970-2009). Countryside is the former Southside in Gainesville and Keith became pastor emeritus in 2009. He started more than ten Christian schools during his ministry.

GEORGE KELL

George Kell (1930-2003) was born in Pensacola, Florida. Kell attended Howard College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of Pine Level Baptist Church, Century, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Milton, Poplar Dell Baptist Church, Pensacola, and Plainview Baptist Church, Pensacola. Kell married Doris White in 1953 and they had four sons.

Gordon Keller (1955-2021) was born in St. Augustine, Florida, the son of James Keller, Jr. and Jean Keller. He graduated from Luther Rice Seminary. Keller served as pastor of Parker Road Baptist Church, Gainesville, First Baptist Church, Branford and First Baptist Church, Chiefland. He and his wife Linda Blalock Keller had two children.

Clarence Guy Kellum, Jr. (1925-2003) was born in Pensacola, Florida. Kellum was a bi-vocational pastor who served Innerarity Point Baptist Church, Santa Rosa Shores Baptist Church, Navarre Baptist Church and Billory Baptist Church since entering the ministry in 1962. He and his wife Ethel Neal Kellum had two children.

Clarence Guy Kellum, Sr. (1896-1973) was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Kellum served as pastor for 7th Avenue Baptist Church, Escambia Bay Baptist Church, Billory Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, Union Hill Baptist Church and Creighton Heights Baptist Church. He and his wife Grace Loretta Kellum had six children.

COLIN P. KELLY, JR.

Captain Colin P. Kelly, Jr., was the first recognized war hero of World War II. He was a great-grandson of Richard Johnson Mays. Kelly gave his life in an attack on the Japanese battleship Haruna.

JOHN O. KELLY

John O. Kelly (1799-1882) served in New River Association as pastor and died in 1882. Kelly was born in South Carolina and moved to Florida about 1858. In two different marriages he was the father of 18 children. John served as a preacher in the New River Association.

JOYCE CARROL KELLY

Joyce Carrol Kelly (1945-   ) was born in Hamilton, TX, the daughter of Neal B. and Cloyse H. Kelly. She graduated from Southwest Texas State College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kelly served as associate director, Woman’s Missionary Union Department of the Florida Baptist Convention, 1975-1977.

RICHARD A. KELLY

Richard A. Kelly served as pastor in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Florida. In Florida he served as pastor in Hastings and Lake Worth. Kelly died at his home in Black Mountain, North Carolina, on August 27, 1956. He was married to Claire Binford Kelly. They had two sons; Richard Jr., and Charles.

Robert A. Kelly (1927- ) was born to John Wesley and Bertie Mae Taylor Kelly. He was saved as an eleven-year-old child and was licensed and ordained at Hopewell Baptist Church in Madison County, Florida, under the ministry of Butler Horton .Kelly served in the military in the Korean War and was wounded on March 22, 1952. He was discharged in 1953. He has served as pastor of eight churches in the last fifty years. He served Mt. Olive, Madison County, 1953-1955; Bethel Creek in Lafayette County, 1955-1957; Corinth in Hamilton County, 1957-1958; Friendship in Hamilton County, 1958-1959; Oklawilla in Brooks County, Georgia, 1960-1961; New Hopeful in Madison County, 1962-1966; Macedonia in Madison County, 1966-1971; Airline in Lafayette County, 1971-1975; and in 2004 was ministering in fifteen nursing homes in five counties. He and his wife, Bonnie Wooten Kelly have five children; Robert A. Jr., Kathy, Gary, Timothy, and Amy Lynn.

JEREMIAH KEMBRIL

Jeremiah Kembril and E. H. Callaway were the preachers who assisted in constituting the oldest Southern Baptist Church in Florida. On Saturday,
March 12, 1825, they helped organize the Campbellton Baptist Church. The next day the church called E. H. Callaway as pastor.

Carroll Upton Kendrick, Jr. (January 16, 1927-2012 ) was born at Jacksonville. He attended the University of Florida (B.S., 1950), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1953); Th.M., 1954), and The London College of Applied Science (Ph.D., 2003). Kendrick served as pastor of Farmdale Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky (1950-1954); Neptune Baptist Church at Neptune Beach, Florida (1954-1973); First Baptist Church, Orange Park (1973-1985); and retired as pastor of Oak Harbor Church (1985-1992). Kendrick married Carolyne Gates, and they had two children; Carroll and Jonathan.

Nolan M. Kennedy (   -1994) was a native of Bessemer, Alabama. He graduated from Samford University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kennedy served as pastor of churches in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Oregon and Pennsylvania. He served as Director of Missions for the Lake County Baptist Association, 1977-1991. Kennedy and his wife Ina Carlisle Kennedy had one son.

PIERRE KENNEDY

Pierre Kennedy was ordained by FBC, Dover, Florida in 1964. He has served in the areas of music, youth and the pastorate in the state of Florida. He served as pastor of Garden Baptist Church (1965-19668), Ambassador Baptist Church (1968-1976), East Bay Baptist Church (1976-1978), Trinity Baptist Church (1978-1983), and Taylor Memorial Baptist Church (1986-2003), all in the Tampa area. Kennedy also served as an evangelist from 1983-1986.

Jesse C. Kennon (1932-1992) was a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served churches in Alabama, Kentucky, and Florida. He served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Eau Gallie for 18 years (1974-1992). He and his wife, Martha, had two daughters, Ginger and Gayle, and one son, Craig. Kennon died unexpectedly at age 60 of a heart attack while cutting grass at his home.

Irl E. Kerley (1914-2001) was born in Montgomery County, Maryland. He graduated from Berea College, Kentucky, North Carolina State College, and Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois. Kerley served as pastor of Broadway Baptist Church, Ybor City. He and his wife, Mary Kerley had three children.

LUCILLE E. KERRIGAN

Lucille E. Kerrigan (1945-1985) was a native of Kansas City, MO and a graduate of the University of Kansas. She served as a missionary to Cuba for 18 years before being expelled and sent back to the United States in 1963. Kerrigan arrived in Miami from Cuba and stayed to work with the Spanish-speaking refugees. She became the director of the Spanish Department of Central Baptist Church, Miami, a position she held for 20 years. Kerrigan retired from the Home Mission Board in 1981 and served as a translator for the Billy Graham Crusade in Fort Lauderdale. While in Cuba, Kerrigan adopted a two-year Cuban girl from a family of 16, Susie Jacobi.

W. P. KETCHAND

W. P. Ketchand is listed in the 1856 West Florida Baptist Associational Minutes as an ordained minister and living in Open Pond, Alabama. He was elected as a delegate to the 1857 Florida Baptist Convention. The 1855 and 1856 West Florida Association minutes list Ketchand as pastor of Pleasant Grove, and Union Baptist Church, both in Henry County, AL.

Manfred Kettering (1939-1987) was born in Germany. He graduated from Trinity College and served as pastor in three continents, Africa, Germany and North America. Kettering served as pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Orlando. He and his wife Juanita had four children.

GROVER KEY

Grover Key (1912-   ) was born in Heflin, Alabama, the son of J. L. and Fannie Key. He was licensed and ordained by Cora Baptist Church where he later served as pastor. Other churches he pastored were Pleasant Home Baptist Church, Holt, Calvary Baptist Church, Bagdad Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church, Pine Grove Baptist Church, New Bethel Baptist Church, Dixonville Baptist Church all in Santa Rosa County, First Baptist Church, Bratt and Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Baker. Key and his wife Annie Lois Dunsford Key had three sons and one daughter.

JERRY KEY

Jerry Key (1946-2006) graduated from the University of South Florida and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was in the seafood business in Tampa before his call to ministry. He and his wife Ramona had two children, Jonathan and Amy.

LUTHER KEY

Luther Key (1921-1970) was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Key. He graduated from Howard College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Key served as pastor of Olympia Baptist Mission, First Baptist Church, Belle Glade, Ensley Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Homestead and First Baptist Church, Goulds. Key and his wife Mary had one son.

John E. Kicklighter (1921-1997) was a native of Georgia, the son of William Allen and Mercer M. Kicklighter. He served as pastor of Westside Baptist Church, Zephyrhills, 1957-1959; Eastside Baptist Church, Zephyrhills; Branchton Baptist Church, Thonotosassa; Titus Baptist Church, Riverview; and Oak Ridge Heights Baptist Church, Zephyrhills (aka Southside Baptist Church). Kicklighter and his wife, Hazel J. Henderson Kicklighter had two daughters.

R. Kidd served as pastor of Paradise Grove and Providence in Jackson County, Florida, in 1877.

GEORGE W. KIERCE

George Washington Kierce (August 30, 1836-May 24, 1918) was born in Swainsboro, Georgia, the son of Rev. Wilson J. Kierce (1810-1886) and his wife, Bedy Jane Curl (1813-1863). His family lived in Baker County, Georgia, and Coffee County, Alabama when Kierce was young. He enlisted in the Alabama 42nd Regiment during the Civil War, and reached the rank of Captain before being captured at the siege of Vicksburg. After the war Kierce served churches and taught school. He became postmaster at Red Level in 1873, and served as pastor of the Fairmount Baptist Church. At age 80 he wrote his autobiography and sold copies for 25 cents each. Kierce served as pastor of the Milton Baptist Church, and also served as missionary for the Bethlehem Baptist Association. George married Mary L. Savell on November 10, 1850. Mary died on November 6, 1887, after she and George had been married 27 years. George then married Theodocia Terry on August 2, 1888.

HENRY KIERCE

Henry Kierce (January 8, 1846-April 14, 1928) was born in Baker County, Georgia, on January 8, 1846. He was the seventh child of Rev. Wilson J.
Kierce and his wife Bedy Jane Curl Kierce. Henry was the younger brother of George Kierce. Kierce enlisted in the Alabama 63rd Regiment on May 19, 1864. He was later captured and paroled on May 13, 1865. He married Honor Elizabeth Hinote on November 24, 1867, in Santa Rosa County. They had two sons and a daughter. Kierce was a farmer, blacksmith, and pastor. He served as pastor of Millview (1881), Enon (1890), and Beulah from 1896 to 1900, all in Escambia County, Florida. In 1903 he served as pastor of Shady Grove (now Joy First Baptist Church).

H. J. KILLEBREW

H. J. Killebrew (1897-1974)  was born in Clay County, Georgia, the son of Lee Walter and Eudora J. Killebrew. He served as pastor of Eden Baptist Church, Brooksville, First Baptist Church Eau Gallie, 1943-1944, and Orange Baptist Church, Live Oak, 1956-1957. Killebrew and his first wife, Bertha Lucile Herndon Killebrew (1899-1926) had four children. He married Rosa B. Killebrew (1891-1969) in 1933.

JAMES KILLORAN

James Killoran (1934-2014) was born in Little Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He served as pastor of Palma Sola Baptist Church, Bradenton, 1985-2001 and North West Baptist Church, Bradenton, 2003-2012. Killoran and his wife, JoAnn Reding Killeran (1935-2004) had four children. At the time of his death Killoran was married to Marcia Callahan Killoran.

EDWARD KIMBER

Edward Kimber was the earliest known person of Baptist extraction to visit Florida. Kimber was the son of Rev. Isaac Kimber, a Baptist minister of London. Kimber was the chronicler with General James Oglethorpe in the St. Augustine expedition of 1743.

Ronald W. Kimbrell (June 28, 1945- ) was born at Railford, Florida. He married Sue Redding on November 21, 1964, and they have two daughters, Amy and April. Kimbrell was called to preach in 1982, and licensed by the First Baptist Church in Franklin, Tennessee. He served as pastor of Ephesus Baptist Church in Hilliard, Beulah Baptist Church, Clay County, and Evergreen Baptist Church, Lawty. Kimbrell serves as the Director of Missions for the New River Baptist Association.

THOMAS A. KINCHEN

Thomas A. Kinchen (b. 1946; d. 2024) was born in Thomasville, Georgia. He was licensed and ordained to preach by the Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville in 1973. He married Ruth Ann Hunter of Swainsboro, Georgia. They have two children; Alex and Lisa. Kinchen attended Georgia Southern College (B.A., 1969), the University of Georgia (M.Ed., 1975), and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1979, and Ph.D., 1982). He served as pastor of Big Creek Church and Fredonia Baptist Church, Thomasville. He has served as interim pastor in numerous churches. He taught at Swainsboro High School in Swainsboro, Georgia, and also worked with the Georgia Department of Human Resources. He served as Vice President for Student Affairs, and Director of Church-Minister Relations at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served as Director of Continuing Education and Doctor of Ministry Programs at New Orleans. Kinchen served as Executive Secretary- Treasurer of the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists.  He served as President of the Baptist College of Florida from 1990 to December 31, 2022, when he was designated as president- emeritus.  On January 11, 2024, Kinchen succumbed to a cancer that had been diagnosis a month earlier.

HENRY MONROE KING

King,-H.-M.

Henry Monroe King (April 8, 1839-March 1, 1917) was born in Ralls County, Missouri. He attended Shelbyville Seminary at Shelbyville, Missouri. King labored in the ministry in Missouri, Kentucky, and Texas before moving to Florida. King moved to Florida due to his health, and had a mighty influence in the State. He helped start Baptist work in Cuba and Mexico through the Home Mission Board. While he was pastor at Chapel Hill, Texas, he and Dr. Powell of Kentucky began the first Home Mission Board work in Mexico. King and pastor Woods of First Baptist Church in Key West, Florida, helped start the board endeavors in Cuba. King preached the ordination sermon of A. J. Diaz, who became an influential Cuban pastor and missionary. It was also under the preaching of King that Frank Fowler, the first native Floridian appointed by the Southern Baptist Convention Foreign Mission Board, was converted. King also baptized Fowler. Dr. and Mrs. Fowler and their family served in Argentina from 1908 to 1933. King was the first pastor of the Baptist Church at Saint Augustine. With the help of A. P. Ashurst, James Turner, and C. V. Waugh he helped found the Florida Baptist Witness in 1883. He served as President of the Florida State Convention and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Stetson University. He was pastor at Ferdandina, Starke, Melrose, St. Augustine, Hawthorne, Campville, Gainesville, Key West, and Micanopy.

WILLIE KING

Willie King served for many years among the Florida Seminoles. He served in the Everglades, and used a Model A Ford in his work. In 1944 the Florida W.M.U. led a drive in purchasing a car for King. The fund was Mr. King’s Car. The drive was a success, and King and his wife and daughter Ruth, received a 1939 Chevrolet.

Eddie B. Kirkland (1925-2007 ) was born in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the University of Tampa (1973-1975) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (1976-1978). He served as pastor in Louisiana (1977-1980) before becoming pastor of First Church in Lacoochee, Florida (1980-1981). He has also served as pastor of University Baptist Church in Tampa (1981-1983), Main Street Baptist Church in Inverness (1983-1985), and has been a supply pastor in Hillsborough and Hernando Counties (1986-1998). Kirkland is married to Alice B. Kirkland and they have two children; Brenda and Cheryl.

George Kirkland (1932-2020) was born in Clearwater, Florida, the son of George Dewey and Edith Kirkland. He served in the U. S. Navy, 1950-1954. Kirkland graduated from Stetson University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville. He served as pastor of Beulah Baptist Church, Fruitland, 1957-1958; Forest Park Baptist Church, Gainesville, 1961-1964; Archer Baptist Church, 1964-1966; First Baptist Church, Tarpon Springs, 1967-1973; and First Baptist Church, Hastings. Kirkland is married to Anna Belle Casey Kirkland.

J. J. KIRKLAND

J. J. Kirkland (1814-1872) was born in South Carolina. He served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Williston, New Providence Baptist Church (1865-1866), Orange Creek Baptist Church (1865), Fellowship Baptist Church (1866 until his death), and Stafford’s Pond Baptist Church (1865-1867) in Marion County. Kirkland was married to Elizabeth Freeman Kirkland who died in 1868.

James Fritz Kirstein (1930-   ) was born in Buncombe, North Carolina, the son of Martin Luther and Leatha Vera Garren Kirstein. He graduated from Mars Hill Junior College, Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kirstein served as pastor of North Dade Heights Baptist Chapel, North Miami Beach and New Hope Baptist Church, North Miami Beach. He served in the US Navy as chaplain. Kirstein and his wife Mary Russell Kirstein had one daughter.

C. Cleveland Kiser, Jr. was a native of Georgia, the son of Rev. and Mrs. C. Cleveland Kiser, Sr. He graduated from Mercer University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kiser served as pastor of churches in Kentucky, Georgia and Florida, including Palmetto Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Melbourne and First Baptist Church, Perry, 1941-1945. Kiser and his wife had two sons.

Robert F. Kittrell (1908-1993) served as pastor of Seminole Heights Baptist Church, Tampa and as volunteer chaplain for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He and his wife, Wilma Lavina Kittrell had one daughter.

ROBERT KLAIBER

Robert Klaiber (1911-2001) served as pastor of churches in New England. After retiring from the ministry, he and his wife Madeline moved to Lakeland, Florida. Klaiber was know as the Roadside reverend or the Lord’s billboard for his ministry in bringing the word of God to the streets and highways of Lakeland, Tampa, Bartow, Winter Haven, Dade City and Orlando. He would stand on the corner of busy streets with a sign which read “Jesus said, ‘Ye must be born again.’ John 3:3.” The Klaibers’ were members of First Baptist Church, Lakeland.

Ken Klinger (1932-   ) graduated from Buffalo Bible Institute, Buffalo, New York, Oswego State Teachers College, Oswego, New York and Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida. He served as pastor of churches in Kentucky, West Virginia, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida, including June Park Baptist Church, Melbourne, 1960-1963, Flomich Avenue Baptist Church, Holly Hill, 1962-1967 and First Baptist Church, Oakland Park. DOUG KNAPP
EVELYN KNAPP

Doug and Evelyn Knapp served as missionaries Tanzania for 26 years (1964-1990). Doug was born March 1, 1927. Knapp was an agriculturalist he taught local pastors gardening to help provide food for their families and started a music ministry that lead to many new hymns written by local musicians. Evelyn (1930-2012) worked with youth and local women as leaders of Bible memorization and drills ministry and taught pastors in a local Bible school. The Knapp’s had three children.

CHARLES D. KNIGHT, SR.

Charles D. Knight, Sr. (1918-2008) served as pastor of Hartville Baptist Church; Home Garden Baptist Church; and Lake Forest Baptist Church all of Jacksonville. He and his wife Helen Knight had two sons.

James L. Knight, Jr. (1922-   ) was born in Colquitt, Georgia. He graduated from Stetson University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Knight served as pastor of churches in Alabama, California and Florida, including Heights Baptist Church, Pensacola, Lake Shipp Baptist Church, Winter Haven and First Baptist Church, Lake Alfred. He and his wife had three children.

JESSE GREEN KNIGHT

Jesse Green Knight (1893-1980) was born in Clay County, Alabama. Knight graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored churches in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia, including Hardeetown, Fellowship Baptist Church, Ocala,  First Baptist Church, Raiford, and First Baptist Church, Bratt (1945-1950). He was married to Annie Mae Rollins in 1930, they had two daughters.

Malcolm B. Knight (1915-1995) was a native of Franklin, Tennessee, the son of Rev. and Mrs. C. W. Knight. He served as pastor of Southside Baptist Church, Jacksonville and First Baptist Church, Ocala. Knight served as the president of the Florida Baptist Convention in 1962. He and his wife Cascile Middleton Knight, had three daughters.

PERCY L. KNIGHT

Percy L. Knight (1916-1992) was the son of David E. and Mattie L. Knight. He served as pastor of Long Branch Baptist Church, Maxville, 1947-1948. Knight and his wife, Gracie M. Fountain Knight had one son.

ROBERT D. KNIGHT

Robert D. Knight was a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of Florida, Candler School of Theology and Emory University. Knight was ordained by Parkway Baptist Church, Miami in 1964. He served as a chaplain in the US Army. Knight served as pastor of Shenandoah Baptist Church, Miami and Stanton Memorial North Shore Baptist Church, Miami, 1981-1995. He and his wife had three children.

Thomas J. Knight served as pastor of Bostwick Baptist Church, Palatka in 1919, Beulah Baptist Church, Clay County in 1921 and First Baptist Church, Altoona, 1925.

WILLIAM ANDERSON KNIGHT

William Anderson Knight (1778-1859) was born in North Carolina on February 16, 1778. He moved with his family to Effingham County, Georgia, in about 1788. In 1798 he married Sarah Cone, daughter of the Hon. William Cone, Sr., who was born in South Carolina on October 16, 1780. The Knights had nine children. Knight was a Primitive Baptist preacher. He was ordained at Union Church on March 10, 1832. He was a well known preacher and member of the legislature in Georgia. He served as a Representative and Senator from Wayne County, Georgia. He was elected the first Senator from Lowndes County, Georgia, and served from 1826 to 1828. Knight served as pastor of Union Church until his death on December 8, 1859. His wife Sarah died on November 28, 1859, and both are buried in the Old Union Cemetery.

Willis E. Knopp was a native of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Miami Gardens and Immanuel Baptist Church.

LARRY KNOWLES

Larry Knowles was born in the Bardin area of Palatka, FL. He was the son of Walter and Lila Comer Knowles. Knowles was licensed by the Providence Baptist Church, Palatka in 1976 and ordained in 1979. Knowles served as pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Gainesville and White Castle Baptist Church (formerly Nine Mile), St. Augustine. Knowles was married to Iris Silcox and they had two daughters.

ROBERT C. KNOWLES

Robert C. Knowles worked as a bi-vocational pastor and in 2001 retired from the Alabama Forestry Commission. He then became pastor of Peace Creek Baptist Church in Bartow. He had previously served as pastor of Alco Baptist Church in East Brewton, Alabama. He and his wife, Cheryl, have two adult children.

T. N. Knowles (February 5, 1837-July 14, 1904) died in July 1904 after serving as pastor in the West Florida Baptist Association.

CHARLES E. KOCH

Charles E. Koch (1959-   ) was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Philadelphia College of Bible, Temple University, Houghton College, and Fuller Seminary. Koch served as Church Planting Associate/Field Missionary for the Florida Baptist Convention, 1998-1999. In 1999, he began serving as pastor of Sarasota Baptist Church. He and his wife Dolores have three children.

CHARLES A. KOGAR

Charles A. Kogar (May 31, 1845-May 22, 1901) was born in Coleton County, South Carolina, on May 31, 1845. He served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. His property was destroyed during the war. He moved to Fruitland, Florida, where he lived until his death. He was ordained to the ministry on December 14, 1873, and served in the St. Johns River Association. He was a member of Beulah Church in Putnam County at the time of his death.

CLARENCE E. KOLB

Clarence E. Kolb (   -1971) was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Fort Meade, Mount Olive Baptist Church, Bradenton and was chaplain for the South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. Kolb and his wife, Anna Ruth Kolb had one son and one daughter.

I. W. Kraker served as a pastor in the Florida Baptist Convention and died at Tampa in November 1903.

HOWARD A. KRAMER

Howard A. Kramer felt called of God to take the gospel to his own Jewish people. He was converted in April 1935, at First Baptist Church in Eustis.
He attended school at Stetson University. He became pastor of the Port Orange Church. In August 1940, he and his wife founded the Hebrew
Christian Society. He was serving as president of Hebrew Christian Alliance of America at the time of his death.

JOHN KUESPORT

John Kuesport served in the United States Navy and is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Kuesport
served as church planter with the Massachusetts Baptist Association and was director of missions of the New Hampshire Baptist Association (1994-2005) before becoming director of missions of the Pasco Baptist Association in 2005. He and his wife, Melissa, have three children.

RAY KUZMAUL

Ray Kuzmaul was born in Ohio. He graduated from the Florida Baptist Theological College, Graceville. Kuzmaul served as pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vernon. He and his wife Adele have two children.

S. THOMAS KYZER

S. Thomas Kyzer (1933-2005) attended the University of Alabama and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as pastor and associate pastor of churches in Texas, Florida, and Alabama from 1973-1991 when he joined the Florida Baptist State Convention staff in the area of evangelism. Kyzer was the director of the Florida Baptist Convention Prayer and Spiritual Awakening Department until his retirement in 2000. He and his wife, Barbara, were married for 51 years and had a daughter, Susan.
